Parenting skills are offered, this is to help parents to keep their children from going onto the streets.

STREETWISE, is a programme for the rehabilitation of street children in Durban South Africa and the surrounding areas. We have a four phase programme:

OUTREACH
which meets the children on the street, interacts with them and encourages them to leave the street for a better life and enter the Streetwise programme.

PRIMARY PREVENTION
operates in an informal settlement, where we teach parents job skills training, which includes, (sewing, gardening, beadwork, and baking). Nursery school education is also provided. Parenting skills are offered, this is to help parents to keep their children from going onto the streets.

RESIDENTIAL CENTRE
for the rehabilitation of children from the street They undergo various programmes, to help them to return to normal life. The main objective is to work closely with parents and to help children to reconcile with their families and the Community.

AFTER CARE
A programme, which is meant to help the children who return home. We issue food parcels, uniforms, bus fares, until they are ready to fend for themselves.
